ToggleEyelid Surgery or Blepharoplasty
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure that addresses sagging or excess skin on the upper and lower eyelids. It can also correct bags under the eyes. This procedure is often performed for cosmetic reasons, but it can also be medically necessary in cases where drooping eyelids interfere with vision.
Blepharoplasty can help individuals look younger and more refreshed by improving the appearance of their eyes. It can also enhance self-esteem and confidence. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis, and recovery time is generally relatively short. However, it is important to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon to discuss the risks and benefits of eyelid surgery and to determine if it is the right choice for you.
FAQS
Eyelid surgery is the procedure used to correct conditions like baggy lower eyelid, lower eyelid wrinkle and the so called tear – trough deformity. First mechanism of deformity, the baggy lower eyelid is the senile change in the peri orbital fate prominence that is caused by laxity of the fat contents which are fascia and the muscle layer. The amount of peri orbital fat cannot increase with age. The second is the lower eyelid skin excess that expands with age, third is the laxity of the lower eyelid sphincter muscle. Lastly the tear trough deformity is the separating invigilating skin zone between 2 bulging areas of the peri orbital fat and cheek fat pad.
